Krypto #110: Bibbo's Krypto(n)

From: Adventures of Superman #501, 502, 505, Annual #5 (June-October 1993)

So no Mutt from Space in the post-Crisis DC Universe, eh? Well, that doesn't mean a homage can't be worked out. And indeed, in the early 90s, writer Karl Kesel decided to introduce A Krypto, if not THE Krypto, to their family of books. He was a little white terrier type adopted by Superman's biggest fan, Bibbo, after he saved him from a bag full of drowned pups thrown in the river (above). "Krypton", as he was originally called, soon became the yappy mascot at the Ace o' Clubs.
His name soon morphed into "Krypto". Here he is meeting Superman for the first time:
But Krypto was never so much Superman's dog as he was Superboy's. And who did Karl Kesel also bring to life in Adventures of Superman #501 alongside Krypto? That's right, a post-Crisis Superboy. And these guys would meet too:
It's all part of some bigger plan, folks. See you next week for more non-Kryptonian Krypto action!
